We've had some serious luck this last week people! We've had a cold
front here in Laredo and it got down to a very chilling 60 degrees! We
were all wearing sweaters and tights! I saw a lady walking down the
street all bundled up in her coat, gloves, hat, and SCARF! this is
serious business my friends!
We also had a serious thunder, rain, lighting storm! I have never
witnessed such a thing as this before! it started raining Saturday
night, luckily after we'd switched from bikes to cars(more news on my
bike fun later) then it got seriously rainy. it was POURING. with tons
of lighting and thunder. not like a Utah storm. like a serious lighting
every few seconds and thunder rolling acrossed the mountainless land! it
started Saturday night around 8pm. then ended sunday morning around
11am... crazy right? it was really cool though! however... when the
alarm went off sunday we started getting up and just as my compy was
about to get in the shower we heard a huge CRASH of thunder and the
power went out... haha yay for sister missionaries getting ready in the
dark!!! we used our bike flash lights for light all morning. then when
we were about to leave for church the power came back! sister kreis was
not happy haha(:
By the way! transfers were last week! I didn't bother to tell you
before hand because training missionaries don't get moved on their first
transfer after coming into the mission(: However in 5 weeks I may not
be so lucky! guess we will have to wait and see huh? We did get a new
zone leader and district leader however! our district leader and
companion are now two tall blonde elders. both around 6'3" so whenever
someone asks about them they just say "are your elders the big ones?" of
course they mean that with love right?(; we do love our elders however!
we gave them a ride to church sunday morning so they wouldn't get their
suit coats soaked.. spoiled boys(:
Alrighty... just one HUGE more piece of news for you this week.... :D
TWO
BAPTISMS YESTERDAY!!! Yep! My compy and I didn't have just one... we
had TWO. Our investigator and her 8 year old son got baptized together
yesterday(: It was so wonderful!!!! She was so ready and I feel very
blessed that my compy and I were able to come into her life at the
perfect time to bring her the gospel! I was going to try and email a
picture of all of us before the baptism but the library computers don't
allow you to connect your camera): so I will mail home a printed copy
and y'all can bug my parents to share(:
Ok so I just want to leave you with one
big thought! On may 12(MOTHERS DAY! WHEN I GET TO CALL MI PADRES :D) we
are having invitation sunday in our branch! Yes. It will be awesome.
everyone is asked to invite someone to church! it is a special day set
apart for this! how cool is that? Well! I invite you all to pray, fast,
and truly ponder who you could invite to church. It doesn't have to be
sunday church, just inviting to an activity would be grand! To help
encourage you to do this.. here is my scripture! Mosiah 28:3. I'm not
telling you what it says because I want you to have motivation to look
it up(; But basically its about the son's of mosiah(coolest missionaries
EVER!!!) It breaks my heart now that I'm in the mission that I didn't
share the gospel more with my friends at home. it would have been SO
easy to invite them to a morning side and offer a ride... but I was
always too scared. My motto scripture right now is 2 Nephie 22:2 I will
TRUST and NOT BE AFRAID! I invite you to exercise trust and faith in the
Lord and invite someone to a church activity. Just planting that little
seed can do more than you've ever imagined!
Well that's about all I have for you! although I
believe I became a real missionary this week(; I got my first bike
injury! No I didn't crash.. I just ran the bike into my leg and got a
nice bruise and scratch... and I got my first WEDDING INVITATION from a
high school friend!!!! Crazy stuff! But I do love my Becca so its ok
shes getting mawwied!! :D Be safe friends family and whoever else my dad
forwards this on to! The Church is true and I know it is our job to
help others know that too!! :D
Until next week!
